For Mom: how this works (tap to open)
  • Each week has 10 spelling words and 5 heart words. A good rhythm is 5 to 7 words a day, in any order. Day one: the first 5 to 7 words. Day two: the next 5 to 7. Day three: the rest. Day four: tap "Review all 15" near the bottom.
  • Tip: if she can, redo Part 2 on yesterday's words the next morning. Spelling sticks best after a night's sleep.
  • Part 1: she meets the word, taps its parts to hear them, and matches it to a picture.
  • Part 2: she finishes a sentence, spells the word three ways, then writes her own sentence.
  • Heart words have one tricky part, like the "ar" in warm. She taps the letters to find the hearts.
  • She can tap "Hear it" any time. Turn the tablet volume up so she can hear.
  • A petal grows on her flower after Part 1, and a gold star shines after Part 2.
  • Her progress saves on this tablet. If she uses a different browser, it starts fresh.
  • Tip: sit with her for the first word, then let her go. If she gets stuck, "Hear it" and "Give me a clue" help.

Part 2: Use it
